"TAIL AND CROWN"
Introduction:-Both are mode of MS material which is very softer than HSS material,its also know as "BEVEL GEAR" which is called as TAIL CROWN in automobile sector in the bevel gear two type of gear plate one is axle type long rod gear teeth and another is circular type gear teeth so its looks like tail and crown. its main use in automobile sector as a power transfering device at an angle. Tail crown transfer the engine power to the wheel axle for rotation power.although in the most application the shaft are at right angle as the spur gear.during the power transmission the tail rotate on the crown at an angle.
TYPE:-due to the different type of gear tooth cutting and different type of angle there are four type of tail crown
-Straight
-Spiral
-zero
-Hypoid
spiral type of tail crown uses in maximum automobile sector as shown on the figure
